　　於 1990 年至 1995 年間連載的《寄生獸》，故事敘述某天，地球上空出現許多孢子，其中誕生的幼蟲侵入身體後，以寄生於腦部為目標，寄生完成後與腦部細胞同化。他能任意變形，其食物是與寄生體相同的物種、也就是人類。由於寄生獸的出現，到處頻傳殘忍的殺人剁肉事件，但人類卻淡漠地忽視這種仍屬少數的殘案，而且寄生獸逐漸了解人類世界，他們也學會開始計劃組織並利用用起政治的力量來了，整個世界的未來陷入無盡的恐慌中。主角泉新一雖然也被寄生，但是由於某種意外，寄生在他體內的 MIGI 並沒有與他的腦合體，而是與他的右手合體，他並展開了與其他完全體寄生獸的搏鬥。
