Patty Wang, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 22 April 2014]

PCB maker Taiwan PCB Techvest (TPT) will ramp up its PCB capacity to 1.2 million square feet a month in the second quarter of 2014 and to 1.5 million square feet by the end of the third quarter, according to industry sources.

TPT is expected to see its share in the global notebook board market expand substantially in 2014 as it has managed to increase the number of its clients for notebook boards from three to five, the sources revealed.

Additionally, TPT's shipments of optoelectronics boards for LED light bars are likely to post double-digit growth in 2014 thanks to orders from Korea, added the sources.

TPT's capex for 2014 is expected to top NT$1 billion (US$33 million) compared to NT$2 billion spent each in 2012 and 2013.The new investments in the year will be used to ramp up notebook board capacity at its plant in Chongqing as well as HDI boards at its plant in Wuxi, China.
