美2014年度最棒工作：數學家

（中央社加州卡爾斯巴德2014年4月15日綜合外電報導）美國職場調查網站CareerCast.com公布2014年度最佳工作，數學家打敗所有職業，以去年年薪中值10萬1360美元榮登今年榜首，2022年前就業成長預估達23%，前景看俏。

最棒工作其次是大學教授、統計學家。最糟工作則是伐木工人、報業記者。

CareerCast負責人東尼．李（Tony Lee）表示：「事實上，數學家、統計學家、精算師、軟體工程師及電腦系統分析師，工作前景都相當不錯。」

伐木業或傳統報業從業人員的未來展望就沒那麼理想，部分原因是雇用前景萎縮及薪資下滑。美國勞工統計局預估，到2022年，伐木業職缺將減少9%，記者工作則將減少13%。
