　　根據遊戲介紹，《永不終止的夢魘》是心理恐怖遊戲，是研發者受到親身與抑鬱症精神疾病搏鬥的啟發。在遊戲中玩家將扮演 Thomas，他從可怕的惡夢醒來後才發現他仍然在做夢。當他到更深層的夢境時，他必須躲避恐怖的幻象與內心的惡魔。他必須發現造成他這種心理狀態的背後問題，找出事實，這樣他才會醒來。
