美國勞工部今天(1日)公布7月非農就業報告指出，美國非農就業人口持續攀升，7月新增就業20萬9千人，是連續第六個月新增20萬個以上的就業人數，同時也是1997年以來最長的新增就業人數週期。
報告指出，有證據顯示，美國企業正在擺脫
由於有越來越多美國人開始找工作，使得美國7月的失業率從6.1%上升至6.2%。雖然並非每個人都能夠找到工作，但是這項數字的增加顯示，找工作的人對前景更加樂觀。

扛著「權貴子弟」的包袱，連勝文在公開場合現身，儘管總是親切有禮，一見民眾立刻上前熱情致意，對民眾五花八門要求來者不拒，面對媒體的尖銳提問，也極少面露不耐、始終客氣隨和，但總讓人仍覺得這些都是「包裝過的」，就是少了點那麼「人味」。

藉由專訪，看到了另一個連勝文。一連幾個月被批評沒政策、不懂政策、烏龍政策，連勝文有備而來，準備了一本「財稅研究」、一台iPad，展示自由經濟示範區條例草案的內容，以及一本參訪東京帶回的高架橋地下化宣傳手冊；訪談後，他有技巧地將話題轉向他亟欲澄清的議題，即政策財源哪來、新生高地下化只是參考，以及社子島設自經區主張有所本等。

雖然議題熱度已退燒，顯然連勝文仍耿耿於懷，搭配「道具」解釋時動作不斷，講到特定媒體和對手對他惡意抹黑和不實指控，越講越激動、語調也越來越高昂，流露出公開場合難得一見的情緒。

少了公開場合的客套，私下的連勝文回應直接、犀利度；被問及連陣營應對網軍明顯的劣勢，他也坦言競選團隊無力、無人的弱點。

從近來緊密的選舉行程，看得出連勝文確實已「動起來」，但不太拘小節的他話常講到一半，便自顧自地拿下眼鏡，大力搓揉雙眼，毫不掩飾選戰至今已瘦了十公斤，一天要喝很多杯咖啡的疲態。

此外，因為槍傷留下常咳嗽、多痰的後遺症，他也不介意拿來開自己玩笑說，密閉空間中大家看他這樣子「都嚇得要死」。

「以為有什麼病會傳染給大家。」，連勝文說完，跟著大笑；卸下保護色的連勝文，很容易就讓人看見尋常的另一面。

芝加哥7月PMI指數降至52.6

（中央社台北2014年7月31日電）彭博報導，美國供應管理協會（ISM）芝加哥分會7月採購經理人指數（PMI）自前月62.6，下滑至52.6。

彭博訪調47位經濟師預估中值為攀抵63。經濟師預估區間從60到65不等。

根據彭博調查預估中值，美國供應管理協會（ISM）編製的7月全美製造業指數，可能從前月的55.3，攀升至56。這項數據預定明天公布。（譯者：中央社趙蔚蘭）
