曾獲奧斯卡最佳外語片的「分居風暴」女主角蕾拉哈塔蜜，因在坎城影展開幕片首映時，被影展主席雅各親吻了一下臉頰，在家鄉伊朗引發爭議。如今，已有學生團體發起一項訴願，要求對蕾拉哈塔蜜處以公開鞭刑。
伊斯蘭教規定，女性不得和家人及丈夫以外的男性有身體上的接觸。
蕾拉哈塔蜜是本屆坎城影展評審團之一，影展主席雅各事後推文表示，親吻臉頰是西方常見的習慣，在那一刻，蕾拉哈塔蜜代表的是伊朗電影，不該引發爭議。
